Alaska Thanksgiving Pictures

Well, finally here are a few pictures for you to see. (I'll try real hard not to get carried away...lol)This was my guys first time EVER on a plane. Before take off Ryan and Saira switched seats. It worked out better that way so that Saira could 'people' watch...LOL

The first picture is Ryan and Saira first touch of snow. It was around 1am Alaska time, but my dad and Penny made sure they stayed outside to play with the snow before it was all gone, since it was raining that day. The next two pictures are of the kids in the backyard playing around having a snowball fight.

There's me and Saira all bundled up for the cold. Ryan's getting all revved back to attack his daddy...LOL

Me, my dad and Penny. They are such a hoot together!! Of course Chad and I brought Penny a Longhorns shirt....and yes, you know WE HAD to teach her how to hook 'em. I think she caught on pretty well....lol And then here's a pictures of some mountains from the Taxi when my dad took me and Saira shopping on Friday afternoon.

We started out by shopping at the Once In A Blue Moose shop.

Here's Saira with a bear. Saira and my dad with a bear...yeah, they are EVERYWHERE! LOL We ate at the restaurant for lunch behind that big bear. My dad being funny catching me in action eating King Crab legs. OMG, they are soooo awesome in Alaska. You can taste how fresh they were. :) Yummmmmmmmmm!

Am I getting carried away???? I hope not....LOL I have tons more to show....

After we ate, we went into this store called Alaska Mint. There was gold everywhere!! And when we walked out to our left was another gorgeous snow capped mountain. :)

There's Saira with another bear. And then we went across town to the Alaska Wildberry Products chocolate shop. Where they have a 2 story high chocolate waterfall that contains 3,400 lbs of real chocolate. Said to be the worlds largest. YUMMY!

Then we went across the street to Sourdough Mining Company restaurant for hot chocolate and coffee. Let me tell you...they have THE BEST sourdough bread...YUMMM...look at those sourdough rolls! And yes, there was another bear for Saira to stand by...LOL The next day it started to snow again. So me and Chad loaded up the kids including Penny's granddaughter.

We went to the Anchorage Museum of History and Art. And after that we went out to eat for lunch at the Sea Galley. Daddy told us to spent at least $150 on lunch. Well we ended up spending $125 on lunch. Not bad huh? LOL I had a $50 lobster. It was soooo goooood! Chad had baked halibut Imperial. mmmm, his was good too. we shared. ;) We had 2 appitzers, fried halibut nuggets and stuffed mushrooms, which were AWESOME! He had an Alaskan Amber beer. One of his first amber beers too. Oh yeah and we have an order of snowcrab legs too. YUMmmm!

After we ate lunch, I just had to show Chad the chocolate factory with the chocolate waterfall. And then we headed back to my dads to rest up and pack before we took off at 1am. I hope I didn't bore you with my pictures. I tried real hard not to post so many, but I couldn't help it. LOL :)

We're HOME!!

Yay, we're home. We got home around 4:00 pm this evening. And let me tell ya, I'm totally POOPED. I'm just going to fill ya in on one cool event that happened when we left my dad's last night......

There are stories of Moose walking the neighborhoods in Anchorange. Well, here's me, Chad and the kids wanting to see one... knowing one wouldn't ever show up for us of course. Well it was sooooooooooooooooooo freak'n cool!!!!!! We were LOADED up in the taxi to go to the airport last night and we were waving to my dad, I'm about to close the door of the taxi and all at once everyone's yelling... "Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" OMG, there were TWO.... not one, but TWO moose walking through the neighborhood. We were all in shock. It was soooooo cool! We'll never forget that. Of course, don'tcha know, my camera was in my carryon. I mean, it was dark outside. What was I planning on taking pictures of at 10pm at night...LOL I tried getting it out quickly. I managed to get a snap on the camera, but they were trotting down the road so quickly that we couldn't see them in the dark. Our taxi driver tried to follow the mama and baby, but we didn't have any luck. Sooo all we have is the pictures in our minds and the memory of that in our head. No pictures. :( I was soooooo disappointed. :(

Alaska Update

We have been having a WONDERFUL time here in Anchorage. Thanksgiving was great yesterday. We had a really YUMMY feast!!! Last night we....well, actually it really wasn't night time yet. But it sure was dark. I can't get over how it gets dark by 4pm. Anyways, around 5 we went out to downtown to see the city and lights....just gorgious. In a few minutes, my husband and son are headed to the University to watch the Great Alaska Shootout...college basketball tournament. They get to watch 2 sessions which is 4 games. :) And while they do that my dad, Saira and I are going back out around town to do a few things. But stay away from all the Black Friday shoppers.

Oh, the flight up here... What a hoot that was!! I believe most of you all know that I'm a veteran flyer...lol I have many sets of wings stored away somewhere...lol BUT, it was Chad, Ryan and Saira first plane ride. OMG, I could NOT stop laughing at them. First of all, it was the holidays, so of course the air strips were congested. So we had to sit on the runways for quite awhile...no biggie, but my bunch was mighty anxious to get up in the air. Chad sat in the middle, Ryan sat by the window and Saira sat at the isle. I sat in the isle seat across from them. Saira was entertained from the Flight Attendants. And the 3 of them would NOT stop asking me in the heck we were finally going to be in the air. Well, you know when the plane is building up its speed to take off and I motioned at Chad that it was time and you should've seen their faces. It was priceless...LOL I was very proud of them. They all did great. Ryan only had a problem with landing in Seattle Washington. His ears were soooooo stopped up that he just couldn't stand it anymore. The poor baby wouldn't chew his gum like he needed too. But once we got stopped I believe his ears opened back up. We got out to stretch our legs for a few minutes while they gased up, loaded up food and new passengers again, because we didn't change planes. That was nice. :) So we took off again, headed up here. Oh, btw, I got to watch a movie I had not seen. ...No Reservations. That was a super cute movie. The movie shown from Washington to Alaska was Harry Potter 4. I hadn't seen it yet either. So yay, bonus points on the movie selections. :) Well, there seems to have been some ROUGH weather on the way to Alaska. I think that made Chad some what nervious. LOL It was kinda rough up there, but not totally bad. BUT..... BUT!!! When it was time to decend...oh HOLY COW!! That was pretty bad. Even I hadn't experianced turbulance that rough. I was sitting next to two other people that said the same thing and they have flown in and out of Anchorage ALOT. Poor Chad, Ryan and Saira. Saira did fine though, it was nothing to her. But Ryan nearly got sick. They had to get him a bag for just incase. Chad told me he felt a little funky, but he was ok. So that was my bunches first experiance in flying. I told Chad that had to be the worse he'll ever experiance. And I'm sure the flight back home on Sunday will be better. :)

Well, I hope you all had a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

I'll update more another time. :)

Last nights creations

I came across Ryan's Spring pictures from last school year and though, HEY, I'll scrap it....lol It's an 8 x 10 picture. I was totally mad that day, because I had no idea it was picture. But the picture still turned out good. And I'm really not sure I'm done with the layout.

Earlier this week a friend asked if I would make her a card to give to her mom for her birthday. So of course I said yes. Well, I don't have a pic of that one just yet, because I already gave it to her. But then I made one to give myself. Mine is different, but both are black, white and pink.

Diet Update

I can't believe I've already lost 20 lbs....in less than 2 months. It's time for me to start buying new clothes. They are falling off of me already. Yesterday when I was getting ready for church, I had to try on all kinds of clothes. Nothing was fitting, everything was too big. LOL I hadn't worn any of my dress clothes in awhile now. I've noticed my shoes are even getting bigger. hehe It cracks me up. Maybe while I'm in Alaska visiting my dad, he'll take me out on Black Friday and we'll get me some new clothes. ;) Not much though, because they will be falling off pretty soon too. So anyways, I started at 219 and I'm down to 199. woo hoooooo!!

:) :) :)

Happy Birthday to my Mama!

Today is my mom's birthday!!! I had plans to go visit her and take her out for lunch, but instead I had to tend to a flat tire on the truck. I'm going to give a rain check though for sure! I wish I lived closer to her so I could see her EVERY day. But I live an hour and 15 minutes away from her though. She's the bestest mom ever!!!! And so funny, I love how she always makes me laugh. ;) I love you Mama and Happy Birthday!!

Trick-Or-Treating

The kids had such a great time on Halloween. When Chad got home from work we loaded up and headed out. We made a run over to my friends house. She made the kids some totally cool goodie bags. Then we went to one of the churches for Trunk-Or-Treat. Went trunk to trunk getting lots and lots of candy. Then we ran around town, house to house. Got a full bag of candy, came back home, unloaded and then went to our church for the Fall Festival. The kids had way to much fun there. It was so cute watching Saira chunk the wet sponges at her Sunday School teacher, for the 'Wet Sponge Toss' game. Several of the adults from church got together and made lots of cute games. Us grown ups went inside and ate some dinner in the fellowship hall. The preachers wife put together goodie bags for the grown ups, she's too cool. ;) I think it was probably one of the best Halloween's we've had. And I think it had alot to do with the time not changing yet. I totally LOVED that it was still daylight out while we trick or treated. Because our neighborhoods here in our little rinky dink town don't have street lights. Heaven forbid people go through this 1 mile stretch of town without having to drive...LOL It cracks me up. Whatever happend to walking??? But anywho, this town is a whole other subject...LOL

Saira dressed up as a "Blushing Bride".

Ryan was a Pirate. I loved his costume.

31 Days of Angelosity sketch 27

Yay, I've already gotten today's card completed. :) This is #27, just 4 more days til Angel's celebration. :)

Alaska Bound

It's Alaska or bust baby!!!

My dad is flying all four of us to Anchorage to visit with him. We're going during Thanksgiving so it will be different not being at home at that time. BUT on the brighter side, we're going to a place we've never been before. Chad and the kids are in for a total climate shock...LOL They've never experianced REAL cold. I can't wait to get my hands in some snow again, it's going to be GREAT. We leave Nov. 21 (day before Thanksgiving) and come back that Sunday. And btw, LOL, Chad and the kids have never stepped foot in an airplane. So this should be interesting. LOL
