Recapping February 2008

This month wasn't all that great. It seems that everyone was sick a different week. I thought I was out of the woods, until this past weekend. I ended up having back pain and I've had it all week. The month was also busy with both Valentine's Day parties at school for the kids. As well as the book fair. Just the other day Saira had a field trip to see The Education Express concert tour with the Pre-K and Kindergarden. This month I also went to scrapbook at my friend Kim's house. We hadn't done that in FOREVER. Then I had my first online cyber crop. That was alot of fun, although I believe that's what caused my back pain. I think I need a new chair for scrappin'. ....or maybe a new table, a tall one, so I can stand and scrap. :)

So now I look forward to a healthy and fun new month with March. :)

So in the last 2 weeks, I've gone online shopping crazy. I bought the Pink Paislee Office Lingo and Spring Fling...oh and a few sheets of the Making Memories Noteworthy. Then I bought a big ol box of buttons. And then in the 2 small glass jars are about 390 buttons...LOL In the middle bigger jar is the Making Memories Garden Party flowers and buttons....and with it I have the Garden Party Paper kit. There's also some flocked alpha stickers and some bling. :) I've bought alot more but I don't remember what it was....like riboons and other things. ;) I can't wait to use my stuff.

.....Did I mention I am no longer button poor. LOL ;)

completions from the Cyber Crop

Yesterday I was able to scrap ALLLLLLLLLLLL day long. Seriously, I scrapped for 15 hrs. I managed to get 7 challenges done. There were 10 plus an extra to make a bingo card for the bingo game.
Here's the first one I completed. The challenge was called 'Lucky 7'. We needed to use seven things on the LO from the list provided yesterday.

This next one was a Monochromatic challenge. So duh, my color was pink.

And this next one for the 'give it an edge' challenge.

And then it was Bingo time and we have to have our Bingo cards completed and uploaded to the 'gallerie' by 6pm. Yeah, it was 5:45 and I totally forgot about it. I was running all over my scraproom trying to rush and get it completed. We had a list of words to chose from. I was late completing it, but they waited on me. I need to fix my little boo-boo's...as you can see. BTW, I won 2 bingos...HEHE, I wouldn't have the 3rd bingo, but I wasn't paying attention.

Then it was the 'tag' challenge. We had to make a tag using 2 pp's, buttons, ribbons or fibers and stitching. I love my tag!!

This was the last challenge I was able to complete. We had to make a card using CS only, stamps, ink, circle, ribbon and rub-ons. Ugh, the rub-on part was giving me such a hard time. But finally I found these brown flowers and thought maybe it would work. And I suppose it's ok...lol

UGH!!

I am so ticked off with Blogger. For the last week and a 1/2 I haven't been able to change the colors on here. The page won't fully load. Is it just me or is everyone else having this problem. I saw that blogger posted an update on their blog thingy when you sign in and they didn't mention anything about layout/elements/font/color issues. GRRRR!! :( I just want to change from red to green. GESH!!!

Fun Weekend

Saturday we ventured out before the nasty storm came through. I needed to go pick up Saira's portraits. I'll scan those later to share with you. They turned out pretty, except for the ones of her and I. I looked weird...LOL
Anyways, before we went home, we stopped at the tire store. The city had announced that BigFoot (monster truck) would be there at the tire store all weekend to see and take pictures of. Well, on Saturday Feb. 2nd, Chad and Ryan went to Houston to the Monster Jam show. BigFoot wasn't there that night though. So anyways, we went to the tire store, hopped out and took a few pictures. I had to take these with my cell, because I left my camera at home.

Yesterday I went to my friend Kim's house to scrapbook. We hadn't done that in MONTHS. It was great. I only got 3 pages completed and 1 more started.

I think I'm going to journal on this one of Chad and Saira. I haven't decided yet.

I don't like how the title looks on this one. I was hoping it would look better than this. I may do a paper piece title or something.... to cover it up. I used Deja Views papers for this one, Queen & Co. felt border, Fancy Pants chipboard, I inked that with Stampin Up green ink, Target ribbons and gem flowers and felt butterflies. I have Making Memories brads and mini safety pins on here as well.

A Recap

I was busy all last week trying to get all my challenges completed before Thursday night. I had Saira home on Monday. Tuesday I worked at the Book Fair at the kids school. I always try to do that every year. It's so much fun to help the little ones pick out their books. I was suppose to help Monday too, but I didn't get to with her being home.
So here's my last challenge, it was a 2 in 1 as well. The first challenge was from Shannon at the Scrapperie. She asked us to make a LO with a 'Love Song'. So I chose "Truly, Madly, Deeply". The other challenge was from Amanda Oates at Scrappy Gourmet. She asked us to make a LO with a Love Theme, with journaling and lots of bling. And this is what I came up with. :) I love it!!!

And this was from a challenge from Melissa Phillips at the Scrappy Gourmet. She asked us to make 3 Valentine Cards for children that are fun and whimsical, red, all 3 different and 1 had to be a heart shape card. So here is what I created. The one on the left was made for my daughters teacher, the middle was for the bus driver and the one on the right was for my sons teacher. :)

So Thursday was Valentine's Day. Did you all have a wonderful day with your sweeties? I sure did. :) The kids had their Valentine's Day parties and some how, I managed not to be incharge of either...LOL haha!! That was a first!! Saira's was at 10am because she only goes half the day. And during her party, my sweet and loving husband had a dozen gorgeous roses delivered to the school.

These are what I made for the kids parties. I made 23 cookies(14 for his class and 9 for hers). I used a Stampin' Up stamp and the tag punch to make labels for the cookies. On the backsides I wrote from Ryan or Saira.

Well, I believe that's about it....up until Saturday. I'll post about that next. ;)

Wow, it's been awhile....and a TAG!

Goodness, I let a week go by without posting?? I'll come back later today and post some pictures of my new layouts since last Friday...LOL I can't believe I haven't posted since then.

Darlene tagged me, thanks D!! ;)

B: Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Superbowl Sunday

It's time for the Patriots and the Giants to duke it out. How many of you out there will be watching the game? I'm wanting to watch, I always do, but I have this urge to scrap or make cards...LOL Maybe if it do that now I'll get it out of my system and I'll be ready to watch the game. I'm for the Patriots. I'd hate for them to lose and have their undefeated record go down the drain. I'd like to see Randy Moss make ALOT of touchdowns for them as well.

So, will you be scraping and card making or watching the game? Do you have a superbowl party going on today? Are you going to take pictures so you can scrap it? :) :)

Well Happy Ground Hog Day!!

Yep, it's that time again... It's ground hog day!! Is Phil going to see his shadow or not? Will we be having 6 more weeks of winter weather or will we have an early Spring. Phil, you better not see that shadow. I'm already tired of winter and it just got started for us. LOL ;)

Woohooo...shopping...

Boy was today fun!!! I FINALLY went scrapbook shopping. I haven't been in probably 2 months. ACK!!!! But anyways, Jana and I stopped by Target and then to Hobby Lobby. I only spent $30 all together...go me. So I don't feel so guilty either. lol Perhaps my shopping day looked good because we stopped by Cyndi's (my stampin up lady) to get our orders. So I had lots of bags...hehe! I think I'll get crafty tonight.

My February is going to be a little boring for card making. Thank goodness for Valentine's Day though or I really wouldn't have anything to do in that area. But I found an old friend who's having an anniversary next week. So there's a card. Perhaps that means I'll be able to get more pages done. What do you think? I asked both the kids if they'd like for me to make their valentine's for them and they both said yes, but then Saira told me no after she saw all the boxed valentine's at walmart. So I'm not sure what the game plan is. LOL I guess we'll see before to long.
