Easter

This Easter was so great. The kids woke up to see their Easter Baskets filled with goodies. That Easter Bunny leaves yummy treats. Then we got ready for Church. When we got home my mom was already hear. The kids totally loved that. They went crazy as soon as we drove up in the drive way, "MEME!!! MEME!!!". The kids love their Meme. Well, I baked a ham, made potato salad, deviled eggs, green beans, rolls and macaroni and cheese. Around 3pm Bettie Anne arrived. We had already done a few egg hunts outside and inside. And joined Chad's family at the church for a quick egg hunt in the freezing winds. WOW, I can't believe how cold it was. At least it wasn't raining. But we had a great day. I couldn't have asked for a better Easter! :)

An Update...

Well, I was to tired to fill you all in on our night at the rodeo and seeing Kenny Chesney. He put on a really good performance with having a boot cast, covering his lower leg. He had either broke and sprang his ankle or broke his leg. I don't remember what happened. But he had to cancel some of his tour due to the problem. BUT he said he couldn't turn down his Houston fans. That would be me...LOL!!! Anyways, I hadn't done so much walking in my life...I think. Well, since the last time I went to the rodeo in Houston. Which was about 3 years ago, or so. We saw Alabama then. And the time before that was in '99. I saw Faith Hill and I was about a week or two pregnant with Ryan. Well, enough of all that. LOL Kenny put on a really good show to be hurt. I've heard that he puts on an awesome show. I had a margarita/strawberry margarita, mixed while we walked around. We ate some bbq of course. Like Chad says, you can't go to the rodeo and not eat bbq. I agree! We didn't get back home until 1:15am. ACK!!

While I waited for Chad to get to my aunts house to get ready for the rodeo, my mom took Ryan to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. He had so much fun. They had some Meme/grandson time. Next on the agenda is Moody Gardens on Easter Break. I'm so proud that he'll have something to share with the class when they go back to school. (Thank you Mama!!) They got to see a movie at the museum, walk through a butterfly dome with live butterflies and several other things. He got a new dinosaur, t-shirt and 2 small little dinosaurs of bones. He made sure that Saira got a t-shirt and a dinosaur as well. She wanted to wear her shirt Friday when we went grocery shopping. So she put on her shirt...which is orange with a dino on it. And what kind of shorts do you think she went and picked out of her drawer??? This kid is so smart. She brought me a pair of solid orange knit shorts. I told her I was so proud of her that she picked out the orange shorts that matched the orange shirt. She said, "YAAAAAAY, Neeeeewt", in her soft little voice. It's so cute hearing her praise herself. (for those that don't know, Newt is her nickname and is the only name she will call herself. She won't say Saira...lol).

What else?!?

YAY for Monday coming. Ryan goes back to school. Never thought those words would come out of my mouth though. But it is so time for him to go back to school. And just think, he has a 6 day break for Easter. WHY?? He has Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off. It's not like they just didn't have Spring Break for heavens sack. Oh well... He'll get to go to Moody Gardens with Meme. :)

I guess that's about it. Other than I'm getting the itch to garden. I need some flowers around this house. Next month we've lived here a year. Yep, already a year. AND NO FLOWERS! UGH!!! Time to make it pretty pretty.

Well, it's time for me to go do my good deed of the day, of which I've been doing since last Thursday the 3rd. I'll explain it all later. :)

Kenny Cheseny, here we come!!

Yes, I know. You're probably wondering what happened to me. Did I fall off the face of the earth or what?!? Nah! Just been busier than a popcorn merchant. What with Ryan being on Spring Break and all.

BUT ANYWHOOOO!!! Me and Chad are going to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to see Kenny Chesney. Woowee baby baby!! March 9th is also our 10 year anniversary. Not our wedding anniversary but for how long we've been together.

I'll update later tonight.

ZZZZzzzz....

It's late and I don't really have much to say at the moment. Other than I wanna lay my head on my nice fluffy pillow. Hopefully I won't sit on Chad when I plop in bed this time. He's such the bed hog.

Oh oh oh! I do have one thing to tell you all. Ryan has his T-Ball tryouts/practice Thursday evening at 5pm. He's so excited. It's not really a tryout kind of thing. Because we've already paid and everyone will get to play. It's just basicly something for the coach's to see how much each of the kids can do and so forth.

Well... that pillow is calling my name... Night night!

D-O-G

Ryan was getting ready for school this morning and he's sitting at the door putting his shoes and jacket on. I hear, "D----O----G! That spells DOG!". I slowly turned and looked at him with a big huge grin and said, "YAAAAY Ryan, you spelled dog! Way to go!" Then he says, "C----A----T!" That spells CAT!" I said, "OH MY GOSH, you spelled cat, you are soooo smart!". I then asked him, "Hey, one plus two equals???" and he said, "THREEEEEEE!" These are the things they are working at in Pre-K. I'm just mind baffled over it. I can't believe my little baby boy is learning all these things. Before he walked out the door I told him, "Dang, I won't be able to spell in front of you anymore." LOL Well, yesterday I picked him up from school and I visited with his teacher. She showed me what they worked on yesterday. She wrote a sentence on the board and they wrote it too and drew a picture with it. The sentence was, "I saw a dog." Was it last week or the week before, when it was Washington and Lincoln's bday along with Presidents day? Anyways, during those weeks they worked on President facts. They kids learned that Washington was the only president that didn't live in the White House. Why, because it was being built at the time. Also, they learned what room the President has meetings in, which is the Oval Office. He knows there are 50 stars on the flag because there are 50 states. Oh man, there are so many facts he knows now. He told me there is 2 presidents that are daddy and son. Which would be the Bush presidents. But there are many many more clever things he knows. I was so surprised when him and the teacher were showing off their new knowledge

Horsey Horsey!

Saira got to see horses up close for the first time today. This child is scared of dogs, cats or any other kind of animal that is near her. Well today we stopped at Chad's best friends house and at his house he has a horse stable. He has 6 horses, 4 of which are his own. Anyways, Chad got out to say HI to him and then he tells me and Saira to get out of the car to come check out the horses. My thoughts were, "Oh yeah, sure Chad, like this is going to go over real well, HA!". I held her up so she could see over the rails. She made me keep our distance. But as Chad and Brandon always do, they talk forever and ever, and as they kept talking the more comfortable she would get. and it also helped to see Daddy petting the horses. So she finally gathered up enough nerve to FINALLY touch one. We were all so proud of her. A few minutes had past and of course Chad and Brandon are still chit chatting away and I let her down and she got up close to watch one of the horses eat from his bucket. I was all up in their conversations and noticed she was trying to hold her hand out to pet him again. We were all acting like we didn't notice her because she would stop but she finally petted him again. Once again we were all proud of her. This child is in love with horses. Uncle Brandon's going to have to look into getting her a pony now...AWWW!! She's been talking about the horsey's all day now.

Goodnight everyone
